13lbs pale malt syrup 6 oz. caramel 40L 6 oz. caramel 20L .5 oz. Nugget (60min) .5 oz. Willamette (1min) .5 oz. Cascade (1min) 07-01-07 Start with ~3.5 gallons distilled water in the brewpot. Raise temperature to 150¡f Steep caramel grains at 150¡f for 30 minutes Turn off heat (to avoid burning) and add malt syrup. Stir to mix. Brew pot got a little bit too full so I scooped some out with a bowl into a separate pot. Turn heat back on both pots and raised to boiling. Add .5 oz. nugget hops (split between pots) at beginning of boil and covered. Boiled for 40min, added the wort chiller. Boil 19 more minutes, add Willamette and Cascade hops. Boiled for 1 more minute. Poured second pot back into main pot. Cooled with wort chiller. When cool, decanted into plastic tub. Topped up to 5gal with distilled water. Added yeast starter. Mixed with spoon. Pour through filtered funnel into carboy. Forgot gravity reading. Forgot Krausen. 07-26-07 Decanted into plastic bucket. Tested gravity. Boiled 2 cups water and 1 cup corn sugar. Cooled and added to bucket. Final gravity: 1.016
